Rabbit Spine Cyanotype Bandana
These one-of-a-kind sunprinted sweethearts are made to order. What makes this beautiful blue? It’s called Cyanotype, an antique (and analog) photographic process. The Rabbit-Spine design is a reimagining of the rabbit vertebrae, which is in nature extremely fragile, making it a very vulnerable creature. I reimagined the rabbit vertebrae to have tough wing-like appendages forged of brassknuckles. In this composition, you’ll also notice a bit of ethereal ambiance; using film negatives of my pictures of spider webs, I also collaged tiny pebbles from Gichigamiing (Lake Superior) into the images. All floral and plant details were created from real plants found in the artist’s backyard, so they were sustainably gathered. Variations in printing may occur. Dimensions approximately 24”x24”
