Rabbit Spine Necklace (Iridescent and Fluorescent)
The most delicate part of a rabbit’s body is surprisingly the spine. In contrast to their incredibly strong muscular system, in particular their hind legs, their spines are brittle, leaving our favorite furry forest friend on a knife’s edge. A reminder of how fragile life truly is. I want to pay homage to our dear rabbit friend and their most vulnerable quality with jewelry that packs a punch. This necklace features an abstract drawing I created of the rabbit’s spine, etched and cut into two seductive layers of acrylic — one in fluorescent and one in iridescent, bending light in a multitude of ways. The chain is also hand-constructed with laser-cut fluorescent acrylic links and stainless steel rings. All metal is stainless steel, either plain or anodized rainbow.
